Little Penguin
Shiraz
Southeast Australia, 2006
Darkish plum/cherry color. Bold, not subtle. Reminds me of Yellowtail (also Australia). Not very complex; a very forward taste, not much change or gradation. Probably best with hearty foods with distinct flavors, e.g. pasta. Not great alone.
Not overly sweet, a little dry around the edges, but not very interesting. Acceptable in a pinch, nothing special. Not especially recommended; won't buy again.
(N.B.: Last drunk Dec. 2008)
