Gnarly Head: Cabernet Sauvignon

Gnarly Head
Cabernet Sauvignon
California 2006

Decent marks for a cheap wine, but either it has gotten worse over time (have they started adding to it?) or my palate has sadly improved, because while I used to feel it was a rich, smooth, spicy red, now it is tasty but not too impressive, and tends to leave us with a bit of a headache that speaks to additives.

However, if you don't mind that, it is good alone or as a complement to meat or pasta dishes. Beautiful ruby color, and it has a sturdy taste with notes of leather but fresh overtones, and a decent aftertaste. Good for fall and winter.

Recommended for a cheap red.
